Why use a dovetail drawer box?
Although there are many ways to make a drawer, dovetails are the quintessential cabinet makers joint. Even for nonprofessionals, the dovetail joint is easily identifiable and reflects quality and craftsmanship. The dovetail first appeared in Egypt 5000 years ago and was used in coffins, furniture boxes and in ivory work. Later, the Romans used dovetails as both a building joint and in furniture. As a contemporary cabinet/furniture maker, you continue the tradition.
